The design is an alternative coat of arms to celebrate the community spirit of seven nominated Lewisham volunteers; who run community centres and food banks, set up hubs in phone-boxes, provide digital access, fix bikes and computers, welcome migrants and connect the borough. The open phone-box in the design represents the connection, kindness, wonder and resourcefulness of all Lewisham community-led volunteer organisations and individuals.
